Privacy Policy
Last updated September 29, 2026
EQ Insight Pro helps you understand and grow your emotional intelligence. That means you may share personal things with us. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Account details: your first name, email address, age and gender. Your password is stored only as a one-way hash; we can't see it.
- Your focuses: the areas you choose to work on, the name you give for the other person (if any), and what you tell us about the situation and the outcomes you want.
- Your activity: assessment answers and scores, journal entries, daily plans, messages you paste into the coach, badges and streaks.
- 360 reviews: if you invite reviewers, their anonymous ratings and comments about you.
- Billing: if you upgrade, our payment provider collects your card and billing address. We receive only your subscription status, plan and renewal date, never your full card number.
How we use it
- To run your account, score your assessments and show your results.
- To personalize questions, results, coaching and daily plans to the focuses you choose.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers, who process data only on our instructions:
- Vercel hosts the application.
- Neon hosts our database, in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
- Anthropic provides the AI that writes coaching insights, daily plans and journal analysis. When you use these features, the relevant text (for example, a journal entry and your focus) is sent to Anthropic to generate a response.
- Stripe processes payments.
Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. Information stored abroad may be accessible to authorities in those countries under their laws.
Your choices and rights
- You can access and correct your information, and ask us for a copy of it.
- You can remove a focus at any time from the Focuses page.
- You can ask us to delete your account and data. We'll do so unless we're legally required to keep something (for example, billing records).
- You can withdraw consent to optional processing, such as AI features, by not using them.
To make a request, contact us at the contact address listed on our website.
Retention and security
We keep your information while your account is active and delete it when you ask us to, apart from records we must keep by law. Data is encrypted in transit, and access is limited to what is needed to run the service.
Age
EQ Insight Pro is for people aged 16 and over.
Changes and contact
If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll tell you in the app or by email. Questions or complaints: the contact address listed on our website. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
